As we conclude each service of worship, we ask the question which you are probably asking right now. “Christ Lutheran Church - who are we?” That is such a good question and one which has many answers!
... located in a “retirement/resort” community and most of us are chronologically gifted. However, under the grey hair beat hearts alive with mission and ministry. Christ Lutheran Church (CLC) is an active and vibrant collection of people from across these United States who have made a home on the Plateau. Most of us are retired from the 9-5 work-a-day world, which leaves time for congregational outreach!
... followers of Jesus Christ who are proudly and unapologetically Lutheran. CLC is a member of the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Our worship is based upon the liturgy of the Church with two different primary worship expressions. Saturday night is less formal. Sunday morning is more traditional with the full liturgy and chancel choir. Our Handbell Choir makes appearances at both services! Holy Communion is celebrated Saturday night and Sunday morning.
... by design and intention welcoming and inclusive. Different ideas and practices blend together as people enter the community from different regions and denominations. Since we do not have generations of history (we’re only 30ish), we are open to new ideas and new people! There is a place for you here.
At the conclusion of every worship service, we say “Christ Lutheran Church is a caring community of the baptized people of God, saved by the gift of grace, empowered by the Holy Spirit and sent into the world to share the Good News of God’s love.”
Come and join us - you are welcome here!
